As a 35mm film photographer, I get to produce some interesting results each time I start a new roll. What do the beginnings of these rolls look like, before a full frame is shot? They are typically overlooked; as I went through my own rolls I realized that I had cut off and disregarded many. Some are abstract and surprising, some are incomplete pictures. In all cases, this film is inevitably happy accidents, images I couldn’t try to create if I wanted to, because things are often not what they look like from the beginning.
